
Ms. Soukup's classroom spent part of Friday afternoon having a โfuneralโ for fixed mindset. They reflected and wrote all the things they โcanโtโ do. Afterwards, they put the word โcanโtโ to rest in their classroom and focused on the power of yet!

Mrs. Parmenter nominated this young lady for the #goodnewscalloftheday. She goes out of her way to listen with empathy and understanding. She does a great job of questioning and problem posing as a new learner to PL when she isn't sure.

Mrs. Martin nominated this young lady for the #goodnewscalloftheday for helping one of her classmates transition to lunch. She also listens and follows directions while being a good friend to everyone! She is a good example in the classroom, on the playground, and in the hallway.

Mrs. Wieking nominated this young man for the #goodnewscalloftheday for his ability to manage his impulsivity & continue to persist to work hard. He is respectful to his classmates and staff. Mrs. Wieking noticed that he is always one of the first one to do something when told.

Mrs. Jensen nominated this young lady for the #goodnewscalloftheday. She is always ready whenever the class transitions to a new task. Her bravery in the KJL classroom has allowed her to make new friends and try all the fun new things that kindergarteners experience.

This young man is the first @ElemJourney #goodnewscalloftheday for the year. He did a fabulous job joining a new cohort of learners and went out of his way showering his teacher and classmates with kindness. He did a great job this first day sharing his smile with everyone.
