Due to weekend weather forecasts, Science Saturday for tomorrow, February 23, has been cancelled.
The staff has noticed this young man having an amazing week. It was reported that he has been very helpful for the substitute, he went out of his way to cheer someone up at recess, and has reached his academic goals for himself this week. His great week was the #goodnewscalloftheday. I loved his comment in my office today “It just feels great to help others and accomplish my goals!” #proudprincipal

I was impressed with this young man the three times I walked into his room today. The room had two different substitutes and he was being a role model every time that I came in. His dad was excited to receive the #goodnewscalloftheday for his leadership in the room today.
The learners from Mrs. Parmenter and Mr. Novak studios had a publishing party last week. The event was well attended (the gym might be needed next time) and the learners did a great job sharing their Christmas Around the World research project.

Learners in studio Parmenter have been introduced how to locate 6 types of ‘signposts’ within text. These signposts allow our learners to explore the text by finding evidence to support their interpretations and continue to develop their critical thinking skills! It allows them to become responsive, rigorous and independent thinkers and readers! The learners used sticky notes to make their sign posts. #engagedreaders

Mrs. Martin nominated this young lady for the #goodnewscalloftheday. She was able to help another learner follow Journey expectations. It is great to hear that @ElemJourney learners know and advocate for TIGER expectations.
Parent Teacher Conferences are next week to start off a long weekend.
This young lady was nominated for the #goodnewscalloftheday by Mrs. Jensen. She went out of her way to help another learner count out manipulatives when she noticed them start to get frustrated. Her kindness and ability to be a good friend is something that helps her be a peer leader in our building.
