High School Back to School Orientation Schedule

Students, Parents, & Guardians:

Hope you are enjoying summer break! Greetings to all returning students to HHS and welcome to all freshmen and new students. My name is Ryan Rollinger and I am the principal at HHS. Each Sunday evening (or Monday if we have a holiday) I will reach out to you with an email giving you pertinent information on the upcoming week. This is my way of helping you keep track of what is going on at HHS and reminding you of things you will need to do for the week. I hope you find this communication helpful.

⏰Why are we having one full day instead of four separate nights?

  • There are many reasons that went into this decision, but here are the main points:
  • This protects instructional time on the first day of school as logistics are all taken care of and we can start with instruction day one.
  • This full-day will allow students to follow their full schedule, meet all their teachers and receive a syllabus for all their classes during orientation.
  • Coordinating four nights between tech staff, teachers, Life Touch (pictures) and high school staff was becoming very difficult.
  • Avoids conflicts with the Middle School and Elementary open houses.
  • Avoids conflicts with extra-curricular practices and youth group events.
  • We can address schedule issues prior to the first day of school.

🔒Lockers & School Supplies:

  • Students can sign up for lockers in the front office when they pick up their computer on August 12th-14th.
  • Students can also bring school supplies at that time, or on August 15th.  There is no set supply list for high school students. We recommend students bring: preferred writing utensils, multi-subject or single subject notebooks for each class, and a calculator. Teachers will discuss other items needed for their classes.
