SUMMER PERFORMING ARTS (SPA)

What is SPA?

SPA is a part of the Harrisburg High School Drama Club. It seeks to provide ALL K-12 students with access to affordable & high-quality summer fine arts opportunities. The program focuses on the holistic growth of the participant, by encouraging their development as both a performer and person.

Goals:

To provide high-quality fine arts opportunities for both participants and patrons.
To instill in participants a passion for fine arts, as well as a passion to better themselves.
To create an environment that is positive, safe, and open to all.

SPA IS OPEN TO K-12 STUDENTS FROM ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT.

CAMPERS & LUNCH:

If campers attend camp and/or workshops ALL DAY, please bring a sack lunch, 2 snacks (peanut/tree nut-free), and a water bottle (labeled with name). There will be time set aside each day for snack breaks and lunch. SPA will NOT provide lunch/snacks, so please plan accordingly.

K-2 SPA CAMP

K-2 SPA Camp is a 4-day camp (M-Th) for students who are currently enrolled in grades K-2. It introduces participants to the basics of theatre. Camp staff use theatre games to teach the basics of acting, theatre production, character development, and performance. K-2 Camp concludes with a public performance of a short show. SPA t-shirt included. K-2 CAMPERS CAN ATTEND MULTIPLE CAMPS, BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME CONTENT WILL BE REPEATED.

COST: $175/Session Scholarships Available

BEFORE/AFTER CARE: 7:30 AM- 8:30 AM & 3:30 PM- 4:30 PM COST $40

SESSION 1: June 9-12

SESSION 2: June 16-19

SESSION 3: June 23-26

8:30 AM-3:30 PM (M-Th)

PUBLIC PERFORMANCE: 3:00 PM-3:30 PM (EACH THURSDAY)

3-5 SPA CAMP

3-5 SPA Camp is a 4-day camp (M-TH) for students who are currently enrolled in grades 3-5. It introduces participants to the basics of musical theatre. Camp staff guide participants through all components of a musical by putting together a short musical revue. 3-5 Camp concludes with a public performance of a short musical revue. SPA t-shirt included. 3-5 CAMPERS CAN ATTEND MULTIPLE CAMPS, BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME CONTENT WILL BE REPEATED.

COST: $175/Session Scholarships Available

6-12 SPA CAMP

6-12 SPA Camp is a three-week camp for students who are currently enrolled in grades 6-12. It dives into the intricacies of a theatrical production. Students can choose to focus on CREW/TECH or CAST/PERFORMANCE. Crew participants will focus on costume design, prop design, set design, and musical production design, and cast participants will focus on all elements of the theatrical performance. Cast and crew will work together to produce a full-length musical. Camp concludes with three public performances of CAMP ROCK. SPA sweatshirt included. 6-12 CAMPERS CAN ALSO SIGN-UP FOR 6-12 WORKSHOPS.

COST: $300/Total Scholarships Available

DATES: June 9-27; 12:30 PM-5:30 PM (M-F)

CAMP ROCK PERFORMANCES: June 27 @ 7 PM & June 28 @ 11 AM and 3 PM

VIRTUAL AUDITIONS (CAST ONLY): If a student wishes to be a part of the cast (performer), they must submit a virtual audition by April 25. Directions on registration form. If a student wishes to be a part of the crew (tech), there is no need to submit an audition.

CALLBACKS: Some cast participants will be asked to attend callbacks in person @ Harrisburg High School from 4-6 on April 30.

NOTE: All who submit an audition will be placed in the cast of CAMP ROCK.

6-12 SPA VISUAL ARTS WORKSHOPS

6-12 SPA Visual Arts Workshops are 4-days each week (M-TH) for students who are currently enrolled in grades 6-12. Each week participants will be introduced to a different type of VISUAL ART. SPA t-shirt included. WORKSHOP CONTENT WILL BE VARIED EACH WEEK.

COST: $60/Session Scholarships Available
