Students who need help with homework or a problem subject can get free virtual one-on-one tutoring sessions using a simple and secure online platform. Parents will first need to register their students to use the platform. Once registered, sessions can either be pre-scheduled or on-demand, depending on tutor availability. The program is staffed with university students accepted into their Schools of Education at Black Hills State University and Northern State University. This opportunity is being administered by the South Dakota Board of Regents with federal dollars available to the South Dakota Department of Education through the American Rescue Plan. Cheerleaders from HHS past and present will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets during Friday's football game against Brookings. The team is raising money to help HHS Cheer Alum and current SDSU cheerleader, Brianna DeMarais - who is facing medical issues that have led to the amputation of her foot. The HHS Marching Band finished their season strong with a great performance at Youth In Music! at the US Bank Stadium in the Twin Cities. They placed 4th (of 12 bands) in Class A, and won the caption award for "outstanding visual performance."

Members from South Dakota FCCLA attended the annual Fall Leadership conference in Huron on October 2-3 with other members from across South Dakota. The goal of this meeting was to build leadership skills involving the FCCLA purposes. The theme was “Be Incredible Be Empowered” and the conference was a huge success. The conference included several components including Rookie training for new members, Power training for returning members, Peer Leadership team planning, and individual skill demonstration events. Rookie training was presented by this year’s state officer team, while power training was conducted by Patty Hendrickson, national leadership trainer. Members from the Harrisburg FCCLA chapter attending the meeting included Erika Starr, Leia Rombough, Alexandra Thurston, Morgan Tetreau, Danica Tupper, Malia Bauman, and Kailey Winter.
