Eric White was kind enough to stop by our Advanced Automotive Technologies class the other day. He is the owner of Auto Dynamics, an independent shop in our area. Students learned about owning a business and what it takes to be a good mechanic. Mr. White is skilled in many areas of the mechanical world, but he excels at the electrical side of things. A good schematic is what keeps him up at night. We talked about how important it is to excel and specialize in something to find your niche. Harrisburg High School extends a big thank you to Auto Dynamics for visiting. #CTE #TigersWork

Today, HSD celebrates its most recent development coming out of our Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation Academy. A 1100 sq. ft. house was delivered to its new home at 515 S Duluth Ave in Sioux Falls, providing affordable housing to a SF family and a lifetime of memories and learning experiences for our students. Learners in the Intro to Construction and Residential Construction courses built the home under the guidance of retired CTE teacher, Mr. Terry Konechne, and with support from Affordable Housing Solutions, Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation, Southeast Technical College, and the South Dakota Department of Education. Home Builders Academy students are almost finished with their next building project, a storage and concession facility for the Harrisburg Baseball Association to be completed this winter, and will then move on to building another home this spring. We are #TigerProud! #TigersWork #CTE
